Thomas Road Baptist Church....Kid's Cove
Election day, rain, and three kids and not a thing to do except PLAY AT KID"S COVE!!! Actually it was the perfect thing to do. Grab some Mc Donald's breakfast, the kids, and my laptop, a camera, homework, and whatever else you can think of and head'em out!
I had Landon, Soyer(Landon's BF since birth), and Alexus in tow, along with lots of photos to blog, Friends to meet and greet, and homework that seems to never end. So what else is a girl to do?
PLAY!!!!! And that is exactly what I did! ...........
While we were there, Low and behold in came my most missed prized possesions, Chase & Dakotah. Oh how my heart yearns to be with them, to have and to hold, to kiss and to comfort. You have no idea how my heart breaks when I see them and no that I am not tucking them in everynight. Kissing their precious foreheads. Nuturing their every cold and discomfort. Telling them "it'll be alright", when they have been hurt or scared. Heck, I even miss holding out my hands to catch the throw up when they are sick(as disgusting as that may seem). Oh how my heart breaks. If they only knew how much I MISS THEM!! I've tried to tell them but, it seems as if all he trials and tribulations of my recent divorce from thier father has burdened their hearts and trashed their minds from seeing truth .........How much I miss and Love them!!
Boys if ever you read this: " I LOVE YOU AND HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU....YOU ARE NOT FOGOTTEN!"- mom
gHoULs AnD GoBbLiNS........HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
"TRICK OR TREAT!", said Landon and Lexi. Door to door we went merrily down the road toting bags full of sweet, delicious candies and snacks, prizes, and pencils. Anticipation grew upon the arrival of every new doorstep and eyes grew wide as every door opened, not knowing if they would come face to face with a ghoul or gobblin themselves.
We started the evening just before dark w/ our friends Tabitha and her son Dawson(Darth Vador).
Landon ( Ironman) and Lexi(Fairy Princess) were so excited. Around the block we went only once, while Uncle Sean, Eric(Tabitha's hubby), and Tom stayed at home handing out candy .Tom bless his heart stayed home and cooked Lasagna, garlic bread( for the little vampires), and salad for dinner. It was WONDERFUL. Later, after dinner, we all just hung out and chatted, played video games, and kids played. What a spooktacular evening it truly was.....in deed! BOO!!!!

Four Generations of life.......
One weekend....one moment...A Great Grandfather...A Grandmother... A Mother .....and four children.....four generations......WOW! Can you believe it? Priceless!
My Grandfather ( Paul Streiner), the short little gray haired man, standing only 4'11"....of German decent. Looks boyish himself. Dressed appropriately would be hard to distinguish between him and the kids. LOL!! Isn't he cute?
Growing up he and my(late) grandmother were always the disciplinary, educating, and stabilizing factors in my life. They were my summer care takers for much of my childhood, growing up. They were my mothers blessings when all other resources failed.Single motherhood for her was very trying, I'm sure.
This one weekend recently, in September 2008, My Grandfather, Mother, I and the kids all spent the day at John's for the sake of my Grandfather seeing his GREAT Grandchildren before the inevitable happens. Hopefully not soon.
At 87 this little man who's ideals, morals and values to this day are instilled in me and will be instilled in the minds of my children is the Man who's memory I will hold dear to my heart.
I love you Grandpa!

VA. Beach and the Air Show
Virginia Beach.........Ahhhhhhhh! The sounds of the ocean, the smell of the sea, the taste of the salt on your lips, the sun shining on your face, and the gritty soft sand between your toes. Children laughing, playing, and feeling free. Building castles and imaginations.......read only from fairy tails. Collecting sea shells, sea glass, and unusual little critters in colorful buckets. These are the days.....Memories are made of and memories that are cherished for now and forever. These are the memories that I, as a mother helped create in my childrens precious little minds.
Driving endlessly to the shore with anticipation to see the sea and the air planes that our Military has created to defend our freedom. Having never been to an air show before the kids, Landon and Lexi, and I were so excited. Tommy, was excited too! He was like a kid in the candy factory, all smiles and grins from ear to ear. He holds fond memories of his father when he sees these planes. There again, precious memories created by a loved one, dearest to the heart.
Upon our arrival to the hotel, the "Blue Angels", were taking practice runs overhead. it was amazing the speed and the precise maneuvers these men must learn to navigate these high tech planes. "WOW!", the children gasped as they were in awe for what they were about to partake. Levels of excitement grew in their eyes as we encroached upon the military base, later that evening and returned for more excitement the very next day! The entire weekend was crisp and chilly. Yet the show kept our minds off the weather.
Sunday soon came and the sorrows of returning home soon ended as we ( Tommy, Landon, Lexi, and I) and our friends Eric, Tabitha, and Dawson Rowland woke to a sun filled sky, Starbucks coffee, and a bike ride down the boardwalk shoreline. The boardwalk there is amazing! It stretches the length of the entire beach. During the fall, the end of "peak season", The Neptune Festival takes over and all of the festivities begin!
There is a long list of activities that sustain the rest of the off season to entice guests to the area. I truly recommend to those of you who have not traveled to VA beach in the past recent years...take another look at what Virginia beach has to offer! I guarantee you'll soon see what you have been missing out on.
